Education Ombuds

Washington State Governor’s Office of the Education Ombuds

The Washington State Governor’s Office of the Education Ombuds (OEO) is an independent agency that serves as a guide to reduce gaps in educational opportunities by assisting families, students, educators and other stakeholders in communities across the state. OEO provides an understanding of the K-12 school system and collaborates with community members to resolve concerns.

OEO is an impartial sounding board for families, students, educators and community members. OEO strives to understand the community's questions and concerns and help build confidence amongst K-12 public school stakeholders in resolving problems, creating new solutions and strengthening the family-school relationship. The agency also partners with policy makers and state legislators to conquer opportunity gaps and improve school systems.
