Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Notice

In accordance with the federal Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), Clover Park School District notifies families and employees each year of the availability of Asbestos Management Plans and actions the district is taking to maintain asbestos-containing materials in its buildings.

The district has conducted inspections of all schools to identify asbestos-containing building material and developed a management plan detailing the findings of the inspections. As a result, appropriate actions have been taken to ensure that asbestos-containing materials are removed, repaired, encapsulated or enclosed as necessary.

A periodic inspection of asbestos-containing materials is conducted every six months and a complete reinspection of each school is conducted every three years.

The following schools/facilities contain no asbestos-containing building materials; therefore, no operations and maintenance programs or future inspections are required:

  • Auxiliary Services Center;
  • Carter Lake Elementary School;
  • Hillside Elementary School;
  • Hudtloff Middle School;
  • Lakeview Hope Academy; and
  • Lakes High School.

The district's asbestos management plan includes the results of each periodic inspection and the most recent reinspection as well as documentation of asbestos related activities. Each school's plan is maintained and available for review in the school's main office.

All inquiries regarding the district's asbestos plan and asbestos-related issues should be directed to John Danielson Director of Maintenance and Operations, at 253-583-7350.
