New Middle School

In December 2016 the Clover Park School District Board of Directors authorized the design of a new consolidated middle school on the existing Mann Middle School site in the anticipated closure of Woodbrook Middle School. The new school will combine Mann and Woodbrook Middle Schools in a new school. Once the new school is constructed and occupied, the existing Woodbrook Middle School will no longer be used for educational purposes.

Architectural firm Studio Meng Strazzara was chosen as the designer and is working with district administrators and a committee of faculty and school administrators from Mann and Woodbrook to design a new school based on a maximum, full-time enrollment (FTE) enrollment of 1,000 students in grades 6, 7 and 8. The new, approximately 134,000 square foot facility will include 48 classrooms including three science rooms for each grade. It will also include a main gymnasium, an auxiliary gym, a large commons area with raised stage/platform, a library/media center, a full-prep kitchen and spaces for art, music and career and technical education (CTE). The new school will be located to allow students and staff to attend Mann Middle School during construction. Once the new school is completed, the site will be reconfigured with new play fields, an all-weather track and new public and staff parking. A new bus loop will also be developed separate from the parent drop-off and pick-up areas.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2018 with the new school opening in the fall of 2020. Site reconfiguration will begin in the summer of 2020 and is anticipated to be complete by October 2020.
